A Reconfigurable GPS Receiver for Spacecraft Attitude Determination

Abstract: This paper describes a GPS receiver design for spacecraft attitude determination and its attitude de- termination algorithms. The receiver is a 3-antenna lgchannel L1 receiver. The attitude determination algorithms include an ambiguity resolution module and a maneuver-adaptive Kalman filter which com- bines heavy data smoothing (to enhance attitude es- timation accuracy) with quick response to attitude changes (“maneuvers”).
