Enhanced Ionospheric Delay Compensation Using GLONASS

Jacques Beser and Anushia Balendra

Abstract: The 35 Navigation R-100/30 and R-100/40 receivers provide high resolution dual frequency GLONASS P-code measurements. These measurements are used for real time ionosphere monitoring as well as for positioning. BY incorporating a minimum dual frequency GLONASS capability in a GPS/GLONASS receiver, ionospheric delays can be determined for all GPS and GLONASS satellites with better accuracy than is achievable with the GPS model. This paper presents the GLONASS P-code ionospheric measurements and discusses how these measurements improve integrated GLONASS/GPS accuracy for commercially available receivers.
