DGPS Radiobeacon Coverage Prediction, Including Own-Skyware Effect

Dorothy Poppe

Abstract: A DGPS radiobacon coverage prediction model is be- ing developed at the University of Wales. An earlier version of the model incorporated the limiting effects of ground loss, atmospheric noise and interference. The latest model also incorporates ‘own-skywave’ - the in- terference of the beacon’s skywave-propagated signal with its wanted groundwave. The method developed to quantify own-skywave will be explained and coverage examples used to illustrate its effect.
