Abstract: | At ION GPS-93, we showed the first data from our revolutionary new receiver, the Ashtech Z-12. At that meeting we made the claim that for most civilian positioning purposes, the performance of our Z-12 receiver, with A/S turned m, is equivalent to the performance of high quality dual-band receivers with A/S turned off. Using real data, collected in a wide variety of navigation and survey experiments, we will further demonstrate our claim. We discuss, robustness, loop bandwidths, acquisition, tracking performance as functions of ionosphere and elevation, and other topics which illuminate the utility of the āZā technique. We will also discuss algorithmic improvements we have made since the introduction of the Z-12. |
