A Comparison of Geodetic Receivers Under A-S Conditions Survey of Baselines

Abstract: Different manufacturers employ distinct techniques, such as cross-correlation between Y-codes, squaring or otherwise, to enable dual frequency measurements un- der Anti-Spoofing conditions. We investigated the im- pact on baseline results of these techniques for four geodetic receivers, viz. Ashtech Z-12, Wild (or Leica) System 200, Trimble 4000SSE and TurboRogue SNR8000. In particular we analysed the following capabilities: . To accurately resolve a long (100 km) baseline, with correction for ionospheric effects. . To resolve a short (10 km) baseline, fixing the cycle ambiguities using two frequencies. The four receiver types observed each baseline simul- taneously during four complete days in early March 1994. To eliminate any external effects, we inter- changed antenna locations after 24 hours. Processing of the results took place with manufacturer supplied software (if available) and with receiver independent software after a RINEX conversion. For the long baseline, we processed consecutive ses- sions of one hour and we selected for the short one, each hour a 10 minute session for processing. We pre- sent time series of results, an analysis of standard de- viations and other relevant information on the per- formance. From these, objective conclusions can be drawn.
