EURIDIS System Test Measurement Station

Michel Brunet, Alain Lamy

Abstract: A Ranging service on INMARSAT III AORE has been developed by a joint CNES/DGAC program called EURIDIS. This development constitutes an in-kind de-livery from France to the EGNOS Program, the European Regional augmentation to GPS and GLONASS, based on INMARSAT III AORE and IOR navigation transponders. EURIDIS system tests have been performed using, firstly, a civil user receiver on board an aircraft provided by DGAC, the French civil aviation, and, secondly, an independent and transportable CNES station dedicated to collect data and measurements in different places of the INMARSAT III AORE footprint. This station, developed by IN-SNEC, provides GPS time restitution from several GPS receivers and data collection in relationship with an external or an internal clock (De-termination of the accuracy of the GPS time restitution or Determination of the EURIDIS UERE budget for a static user). This paper presents: · The EURIDIS mission, the system requirements and a description of its ground segment, · the station description and an overview of its re-quirements, results discussing the influence of orbit errors and station location on the measurement results, the GPS time restitution algorithm, the UERE determination algorithm, results obtained during EURIDIS system tests with this station located at BIPM, This paper will conclude that: Euridis performance is better than specified, this station is a potential candidate for another meas-urement campaign with an another ranging signal.
