Abstract: | There have been numerous demonstrations of the utility of using GPS aboard satellites. However, before the use of GPS for critical satellite functions can become common place, changes must be made to the to the International Radio Regulations. This paper will describe what regulatory changes are necessary and why. It will further discuss the efforts that NASA and other members of the GPS space user community are mounting to advocate the approval of new regulatory measures that will provide increased assurance that future GPS space users will not suffer from man-made electromagnetic interference. |
