Abstract: | The objective of this study was to check if the GPS receiver on board the ATV is able to acquire, track and fix position during the ascending trajectory of the Ariane 5. Three types of receiver dynamics were tested, high, medium and low Doppler rate thresholds. Concerning the initialisation mode, three types of warm start were tested, static, orbital and pre-programmed trajectory modes. The conclusions of the study are recommendations to ensure acquisition and tracking during the launch phase. |
