A Solution of a Natural Way to Implement WADGPS in East Asian: Decentralized WADGPS

Changdon Kee and Chulsoo Pyong

Abstract: The main objective of this study is to propose a totally new, “revolutionary” Asian version of WADGPS with decentralized parallel processing capabilities, design fundamental infrastructure of WADGPS network and user avionics, evaluate the performance of the network, and investigate the feasibility of it. In particular, we mainly focus on WADGPS software algorithms to estimate the vector corrections for the improvement of navigation accuracy. Simulations would be performed largely through both methodologies; i.e., one is a current centralized WADGPS algorithm and the other is a proposed decentralized WADGPS algorithm. Here we will devise two specific alternatives for the East Asian region. A full range of performance analysis for each case will be discussed and synthesized. Moreover, information fusion would be conducted in correction domain. Information fusion center (IFC), which is newly introduced in a higher level of the hierarchy, is expected to yield estimates that are globally optimal, or conservatively suboptimal. It means the degradation of WADGPS accuracy to an acceptable extent compared with existing centralized architecture.
