Abstract: In this paper, we consider some important issues ot’ a new Ashtech C/A code real time kinematic (RTK) system: G 12E-RTK receiver. We show that G 12E-RTK performance may be placed between standard DGPS systems (meter) on one hand, and expensive L1&L2 RTK (centimeter) on the other. At the same time, i~ is as simple as DGPS. At the same time, it also has an option, which often allows to get the same accuracy as LI &L2 RTK systems (of course. initialization time is longer). We present test results, which show fast enough RTK convergence with tloat ambiguity (decimctcr) as WC]] as appropriate performance of fixed ambiguity RTK solution (centimeter). Finally wc demonstrate what benefit in speed and reliability of iloat and fixed ambiguity soluti(m the user may have upgrading Cl 2E-RTK firmware with GLONASS option.
