Abstract: | Many satellite based flight test programs showed that DGPS for its own can't fulfill the Required Navigation Performance (RNP) parameter for precision landings. To satisfy the demands on precision landing systems, the use of combined satellite navigation systems and/or the integration with additional INS sensors was necessary. MAN Technologie AG worked together with LITEF, DASA/RST and DLR Braunschweig at the GLOGINAV Project, sponsored by the German space research program. GLOGINAV stands for GLONASS-GPS-Inertial- Navigationsystem. Within this project some of the most advanced components available (GPS/GLONASS receiver, GPS/GLONASS reference station and micro-mechanic Attitude and Heading Reference System, -µAHRS-) were combined to develop a high precision and dynamic future generation navigation and landing system for experimental test purposes. MAN Technologie AG's main part within this project was the development of an integrated GPS/GLONASS airborne receiver and antenna as well as the first development of a GPS/GLONASS ground reference station with RAIM and monitoring functionality designed by Prof. Richert, mathematical institute of LMU Munich. LITEF was responsible for the INS sensor, the navigation processor and the integration of the whole airborne system. DASA/RST was responsible for data storage and management as well as for the implementation of the ILS-Lookalike display. The paper describes the system architecture and the results of the flight and landing trials, put through with the DLR at the German research airport in Braunschweig with regard to Accuracy, Integrity, Availability and Continuity of Service. |
