RNP Requirements for 4-D Navigation

P.B. Ober, E. Theunissen, R.C. Meijer and D. van Willigen

Abstract: This paper discusses possibilities to extend the current required navigation performance concept that does not cover 4-D navigation. It focuses on the way the threshold to generate tunnel incident alarms should be chosen. A dynamically varying threshold is proposed to provide the required safety by generating timely alarms while keeping the amount of false alarms as small as possible.
