Abstract: | European Union defined its strategy for GNSS2, where 98 is the year of international discussions with possible partners outside Europe, and the year of technical & financial options evaluations. This paper present the status of studies conducted by CNES and French Industry, in order to contribute to this European strategy by the end of 98. Two Systems are studied, one in LEO orbit, based on Microsatellites, the other in MEO, similar to GPS or GLONASS. Mission requirement, architecture and first results of performances and preliminary cost evaluations are given in the paper. |
