GPS In Mining

Abstract: Since the inception of Global Positioning Systems (GPS), open pit mines have undergone a rapid change in the method they are using to extract their product. This new technology proves how valuable a real-time position can be to mines in a competitive market. As the mining industry searches for solutions to raising productivity and lowering unit costs, manufacturers and integration companies continue to implement new applications utilizing GPS signals. Global positioning systems will definitely play an important role in maximizing profits of the mining industry in the immediate future.
