Abstract: | The paper presents a prototype of combined GPS/GLONASS receiver targeted to the navigation market, especially the avionics market. This receiver eqipped with an appropriate antenna and LNA can assure antijamming performance of receiving GPS signals according to RTCA requirements and GLONASS signals according to ARINC recommendations. Moreover, presented receiver continues reliable tracking of GLONASS signals when GPS signals are jammed (and vice versa). We analyze the different decisions to insure the requirements for receiver noise performance. These decisions are special requirements to design receiver RF part. Also in such a receiver we apply a special Energy Search Threshold Ajustment algorithm. The paper describes the approach to jam immunity testing and provides the test results. Based on them we determine the requirements to an antenna and LNA, which are needed to satisfy RTCA requirements and ARINC recommendations. Also we show the test results concerned receiver acquisition performances in presence of jamming. Along with noise performances the most important receiver figure of merit is Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) degradation because of suboptimal signal processing even without jamming. The paper provides the results of SNR degradation estimation which were conducted by original technique, described in Appendix. |
