Satloc Wide Area Differential GPS System

Gary Penno, Mike Whitehead, Walter Feller

Abstract: Satloc has developed, with technical assistance from Jet Propulsion Laboratories, a complete Wide Area Differential GPS (WADGPS) system for North America employing the State-Space approach. The major components of the network include GPS reference sites situated throughout North America, terrestrial and satellite based communications, central data processing and integrity monitoring. Another major component of the WADGPS system is the L-Band / GPS Receiver. Satloc has developed two models of DGPS receivers, which integrate the corrections generated by the network with the GPS. Satloc’s most recent endeavor has been to create a low cost / high performance DGPS receiver suitable for use in a wide variety of GPS applications.
