Abstract: In Wide Area Augmentation Systems (WAAS), there are several system level criteria to dimension monitoring stations networks. When considering integrity issues the concept of Depth Of Coverage (DOC) has been usually employed in such dimensioning. In this paper, an extension of DOC is presented and its use is illustrated through an expansion analysis of the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay System (EGNOS) into the definitions provide a more efficient tool to conceive a network of Ranging and Integrity Monitoring Stations (RIMS) while keeping system performances.
