Abstract: | The concept of Regional Area Differential GPS (RADGPS) is described in this paper. RADGPS is able to serve as a bridge to fill the gap between the existing WADGPS and LADGPS systems. While WADGPS aims to provide meter-level positioning over large geographical area and LADGPS focuses on cm-level accurate positioning with short reference-mobile separations, RADGPS is designed to provide decimetre-level positioning accuracy for longer reference-mobile separations in the range of hundreds of kilometers. Different aspects of RADGPS are described in this paper including system configuration, accuracy and integrity. A special focus is given to fast and reliable integer ambiguity determination and precise ionospheric correction modelling. Numerical results using data from a high precision GPS tracking array are presented to demonstrate the achievable accuracy using RADGPS. |
