Global Navigation Satellite System Software Radio Receiver Implementation

Dennis M. Akos and Michael S. Braasch

Abstract: The software radio concept is defined and the advantages of such applied to navigation receiver design are illustrated. Various Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) acquisition algorithms, appropriate for the spread spectrum signal format, have been implemented in a software radio development testbed. Results have been obtained for raw data collected from both Global Position System - Standard Positioning Service (GPS-SPS) and GLONASS GNSS.
