Abstract: | The GPS Local Area Augmentation System (LAAS) includes an integrity function to ensure that users are achieving the expected level of accuracy. This paper presents a method for performing the integrity check by comparing position based on the ground signal-in-space to surveyed position of monitor antennas. Satellite accuracy constraints needed to achieve desired integrity performance (including continuity) are derived. A scheme is described for initially choosing subsets of satellites for evaluation from among the many possible candidates. Results of applying this subset selection scheme to actual satellite visibility situations are presented. Experimental data for some example satellite visibility conditions suggest that achieving acceptable alarm rates is feasible if these accnracy consh-aints are met. |
