Abstract: | This paper evaluates the expected performance as a result of combining GPS and GLONASS as well as considering geostationary (GEO) satellites and the once-postulated Intermediate Circular Orbit (ICO) satellite constellation. This paper focuses on the space segment performance because it is overall the most expensive portion of a GNSS. The results can be used to judge the cost- effectiveness and necessary extent of wide area and local area augmentation systems. |
