Generation of Wide Area Differential GPS Corrections for Satellite Orbits and Clocks Partly Based on IGS Precise Orbital Solutions

Abstract: This paper studies the orbital dynamics approach to the generation of WADGPS corrections for satellite orbits and clocks. A general strategy of GPS orbital determination for real time WADGPS navigational purpose is proposed first, which allows any countries, small or large, to use orbital dynamics approaches to generating WADGPS corrections for satellite orbits and clocks. Next, a vector conditional equation which functions like a double difference operator to undifferenced measurements is introduced. With this additional equation, a linear dynamic system can be used to determine not only long-term satellite orbits and clocks but also instantaneous satellite clock offsets separately. This is achieved by the Kalman filtering procedures given in the following section, including the algorithms for forming different WADGPS corrections. The paper concludes with a brief summary and conclusions.
