Development of a Real-time Multipath Monitor and Experimental Results

Kenji Itani, Kenji Hamada and Tadao Hayashi

Abstract: In the past, we have had some difficulty in finding good locations for GPS Kinematic Survey System (GKSS) reference stations. So, we developed a portable ‘IRea!- time Multipath Monitor”. This monitor allows us to see and print out a graph of multipath, Carrier to Noise Ratio (CNR) measurements, .a sky plot of satellite positions, a panoramic view of the surroundings, and a autonomous GPS position fix in real-time. We will show the hardware configuration, software structure, algorithms, functions of this system and some results in this paper.
