A Modular GPS Timing Sensor

Gengsheng Zhang, Alison Brown and Ian Longstaff

Abstract: NAVSYS Corporation has developed a modular GPS timing system architecture, the TIDGET-T, that uses a generic signal processing algorithm, SmartClock, to optimize the fusion of GPS with precision time and frequency reference data. This generic architecture provides a cost effective solution for many precision, high reliability timing applications allowing conditioning of an embedded frequency reference. In this paper, the TIDGET-T architecture is described and test results are presented of the SmartClock performance with different qualities of oscillators.
