Abstract: | A GPS translator system is used to get the precise and reliable trajectory for high dynamic test vehicles, such as rockets, artillery shells. The proposed GPS translator (AnyTrackerTM Eagle) on the test vehicle receives GPS signals, amplifies, down-converts, samples, BPSK modulates, up-converts to S-band, and then retransmits to the ground translator processing station (AnyTrackerTM Ground Station). The ground processing station receives, demodulates, records, processes in real time, and post-processes the translated GPS signal. The proposed GPS translator processing system consists of S-band Demodulator, high sample rate Advanced Recording Module (ARM), Real Time Translator Processing System (RTPS), DGPS Reference Station and Post-Processing System. Compared with generic hardware GPS receivers, postprocessing software GPS receivers have many advantages for high dynamic vehicle tracking. For example, various tracking algorithms and aiding schemes can be implemented and tested. The post-processing system observes the carrier phase measurement data from the recorded GPS signals, detects and isolates the cycle slip. The observed carrier phase data and the raw data of the reference station are processed by carrier phase DGPS scheme. A integer ambiguity resolution algorithm ARCE is used for resolving single frequency carrier phase ambiguity. The results of static and dynamic test are presented and show that the proposed GPS translator system satisfies the accuracy requirement of submeter. |
