Estimating Local Ionosphere Parameters in Norway

Narve Kjorsvik, Ola Ovstedal and Jon Glenn Svendsen

Abstract: It is shown how ionospheric delays can be estimated using both absolute and differential methods. We describe how these methods can be used in near real-time estimation and monitoring of the ionospheric activity. A few measures and visualization techniques are proposed, and we show some preliminary results of our efforts. We have used data from a permanent network consisting of 5 stations located in the souther part of Norway. Interreceiver distances are 60-70km.
