Abstract: In this paper, we propose an efficient GPS receiver algorithm under multipath environments. The proposed algorithm is composed of three parts, i.e., channelwise multipath detection, channelwise pseudorange compression filter, and multipath-tolerant positioning filter. The channelwise multipath detection is enabled by a unique test statistic that has a good resolution with respect to soft faults either in a pseudorange sequence or in a carrier-phase sequence can be detected channel by channel. The channelwise pseudorange compression filter produces an equivalent pseudorange where multiple successive pseudoranges and carrier-phases of a channel are efficiently combined. The multipath-tolerant positioning filter generates a reliable position estimate that combines the fusion outputs of the channelwise pseudorange compression filters and the decision outputs by the channelwise multipath test statistics.
