An Application of Basic Observation Equations to Long Baseline GPS Measurements

Hiroshi Isshiki

Abstract: If a dual frequency receiver is used, two basic observation equations on two pseudo ranges and two on phase ranges, that is, four equations in total are obtained. Various kind of knowledge on errors involved in the measurement is obtained through processing these equations. In the present paper, the nature of the errors and the method of smoothing of signals by eliminating the errors are discussed. Furthermore, single positioning result based on the true range obtained by the present method is shown.
