Abstract: The GPS/INS integrated navigation system has lots of benefits due to its complementary features. Among several integration methods, the tightly-coupled method gives a better navigation performance than others. It can also give a filtered navigation result even when less than four GPS satellites are tracked, but has more complex structure. This paper proposes a simple and efficient integration scheme, which is useful for implementing the GPS/INS integrated navigation system. To demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed scheme and to assess its capabilities, a tightly-coupled integration system is developed.
