Abstract: | Using a GPS receiver and an Intel Pentium based computer plus a simple voltage level converter interface between the GPS’s PPS signal and the interrupt pin of the PC printer port, interesting results can be achieved regarding synchronization. This is possible using a hard real time operating system with the functionality of RTLinux. Moreover, other services can be run in the same computer with negligible performance degradation. This paper will show how it can be done and the results obtained. |
