Abstract: | A receiver equipped with an antenna array may mitigate the multipath eect on the synchronisation of the navigation signal, but the calibration errors in many cases spoil the performance of any estimator that relies on the angle-of-arrival parameterization. Usually this problem is tackled by estimating the array response along with the delays and amplitudes of the impinging waves. Nevertheless, the estimators based on this approach cannot distinguish short-delayed signals (less than 0.1 chips), which is an important scenario in navigation. In this paper, we present a model that includes the angle-independent calibration errors in the estimation. The associated Maximum Likelihood estimator behaves well for short-delayed signal replicas, and has almost the same performance as the Maximum Likelihood estimator in case of using a calibrated antenna array. |
