Abstract: | Electronic Navigation Research Institute (ENRI) and Furuno Electric Co., Ltd. (FURUNO) jointly conducted the 3rd flight test last December. The main aim of this flight test is to evaluate the impact of the SA removal for POR solution in Japan. ENRI and FURUNO previously did a similar test, the 2nd one in February 2000 when SA was still effective. Six flights were carried out last December: a level, a circular and four "touch-and-go" flights. The post-processed Kinematic solution was used as a true reference for each flight. As we expected, the best POR solutions for all the flights fell within 5 m and 8 m, respectively in horizontal and vertical for 95% of the time. However, the rest of POR solutions for three flights were less accurate than GPS-alone solutions. This paper presents the results and analyses for both the 2nd and 3rd flight tests in Japan. |
