Including TDMA Range Measurements in Snapshot Integrity Methods

Brandon Weaver, Gianluca Zampieri, Okuary Osechas

Abstract: This paper proposes a method of including TDMA range measurements in a basic, residual-based snapshot RAIM algorithm by leveraging improvements developed for ARAIM algorithms to incorporate nominal measurement biases. By investigating the effect of mobility on sequentially received range measurements, as in the case of TDMA-based systems, a bound for the so-called mobility error can be used to incorporate sequential measurements at a snapshot in space and time into a RAIM-like algorithm, contrary to what is expected for sequential measurements. The impact of this is presented by comparing representative protection levels over Germany to a more typical simultaneous case.
