Abstract: GNSS spoofing is the intentional manipulation of the receiver's position and/or time. In the past, many non-receiver-based defence methods such as antenna arrays, multiple receivers, additional sensors, authentication and encryption have been proposed for detection. This work focuses on receiver-independent spoofing detection. In the open literature, mainly single or few parameters have been studied as a combined detection approach. Since tracking and SQM parameters have their specific advantages and disadvantages against certain spoofing settings, this work proposes the combination of different tracking parameters and the SQM metric developed in [1] against spoofing. The combination of eight parameters was tested in an extensive simulation study with 100 GPS L1 C/A signal simulations, each representing a specific spoofing scenario in terms of C/N0, power, start delay compared to the real signal, speed and acceleration. Threshold values were chosen for each parameter. The results show that only the combination of parameters leads to a detection rate of 100%, i.e. the attack was detected if at least one parameter indicated an alarm due to a threshold violation. Individual parameters had significantly lower detection rates.
