Abstract: | This paper analyzes the potential to improve GPS receiver signal tracking through cooperation of vector processing receivers. Collaboration amongst vector tracking receivers is developed here with a third order Cooperative Vector Delay/Frequency Lock Loop (CVDFLL), where the receivers are assumed to share similar jerk dynamics. Analytical, simulation, and experimental results are given that show cooperation can provide large performance gains (+ 10 dB) to vector tracking when receivers share user dynamics, and small performance gains (+ 3 dB) to vector tracking when receiver dynamics are dissimilar. The results from the paper suggest dynamic modeling plays an important role in the enhancement provided by the CVDFLL. |
