Evaluation of Improvements to the Location Corrections through Differential Networks (LOCD-IN) System

Russell Gilabert, Evan Dill, Maarten Uijt de Haag

Abstract: Highly capable GNSS receivers are becoming common place in many electronic devices (e.g., cell phones, tablets, smart watches, etc.) As the capabilities of these devices continue to advance, the availability and quality of their measurements have correspondingly improved to allow for increasingly accurate positioning solutions to be computed. Recently, the raw receiver measurements have been made available to users on some Android devices allowing for advanced processing techniques to be applied. This paper will explore the performance improvement that can be achieved by utilizing precise carrier-phase positioning techniques using low SWaP-C components in both the base station and rover receivers.
