First Experiences With the H-Maser EFOS

Wolfgang Schlüter, Klemens Nottarp, Dieter Feil

Abstract: The H-Maser developed at ASULAB, S. A., Neuchatel/Switzerland called EFOS 1 (Etalon Frequence Oscilloquartz) has been moved from Neuchatel to the Satellite Observation Station Wettzell, Federal Republic of Germany. The results are given on the performance measurements,on the dependence on external temperature and on external magnetic field, which are derived at ASULAB by comparison with the HI-Maser. The experiences on the transportation of the H-Maser in operation are presented and the installation at Wettzell is described. The H-Maser-frequency is compared with the Caesiurn-oscillators of the station to derive the long term behavior.
