Comparison of Fault Detection and Exclusion Algorithms for Multi-Constellation Carrier Phase Solutions

Zhen Zhu and Eric Vinande

Abstract: In this work, we establish the analytical model of the RANSAC-based FDE approach for a GNSS navigation solution. This approach is compared against RAIM-based FDE for differential carrier phase measurements in a multi-GNSS receiver. The capability of excluding faulty measurements will be evaluated in terms of integrity risks and protection levels. RANSAC FDE is capable of protecting the solution from multiple simultaneous faults, and has a predictable and well-constrained computational cost.
