Abstract: | By taking many researchers’ effort over twenty years, GPS technique is towards the mature that the positioning task is more accurate and more rapid than before. Currently the real time kinematic (RTK) GPS positioning is one of the most popular topics in civil and science applications. In this study, the main goal is to investigate the feasibility, effective, and efficient of the RTK GPS positioning technique in the mapping project. The preliminary examination did expose the positioning accuracy of about 1cm, 2cm, 1cm, 2cm in horizontal and vertical vectors, baseline length, and height difference, respectively. In addition, an experimental grid was setup and RTK GPS survey was performed. The preliminary results of 3D perspective map, 2D contour map, plane map, and related evaluation are presented in the article. Keywords: Global Positioning System (GPS), Real Time Kinematic Positioning (RTK), Mapping Technique. |
