Abstract: | GINAMIC is an EC project aimed at analysing the Galileo Regional Concept through a set of scenarios (6). The objective of this project is to study the Galileo Regional Concept by: • Identifying a set of potential ERS for Europe. • Analyzing and characterizing in detail each of the ERS proposed. Implementation options were proposed, and a trade-off was performed to select the most cost-effective and promising implementation alternative. • Preparing an implementation roadmap, including an analysis of the preferred ERS based on a specific trade-off between ERS options. The study was conducted around different test scenarios, covering different levels of performance capabilities (mainly for navigation, and communication in a specific ERS), and environmental conditions (including adverse and high latitude ones). Special attention was paid to the use of alternate satellite orbits such as IGSOs. The aim of this paper is to provide a summary of the main outcomes of the activities developed in the frame of the project. |
