3D-Guidance Display Flight Tests with Satellite Navigation

G. Sachs and R. Sperl

Abstract: A system is described which displays guidance information in a 3-dimensional format to the pilot. The displayed information includes an image of the outside world as well as a presentation of the future flight path and other guidance elements. Precision navigation data which is required for the accurately adjusting the displayed guidance information is based on an integrated navigation system. This navigation system uses differential satellite and inertial navigation data. Simulation experiments and flight tests for evaluating the 3D-guidance system show promising results.
