Abstract: | In many marine scientific researches are needed fixing and speed measurements of ships with very high accuracy. Normally, the DGPS satisfies these requirements; however, in some special research, it is not sufficient to ensure a metric accuracy in relative positioning and speed measurements. Therefore, in this special case, the Kinematic DGPS in real time is very useful because it ensures, by phase measurements, the accuracy necessary to reach the aims of research. In this paper some results of tracking and speed measurements by Kinematic DGPS of two steamboats used for the full-scale tests are discussed; moreover some features on relative accuracy obtained and on radio-link used are reported. |
