NAVSTAR GPS PROGRAM STATUS AND PHASE III GPS USER EQUIPMENT

Abstract:	The Navstar Global Positioning System is now in the production and deployment phase or the so called phase III. This paper will give an overview and current status of the three segments of the GPS system. It will present the User Equipment (UE) with emphasis on their precise time dissemination capabilities, test plans for the UE time interfaces and delivery schedules for User Equipment. Some applications of Precise Time and Time Interval (PTTI) in military operations will also be discussed.
