Abstract: Array processing of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals is currently the best known method to enhance the reliability of GNSS receivers. However, most of the used algorithms are quite sensible to errors in the model for the array’s spatial response. More precise, wrong assumptions on the phase response can seriously degrade the algorithm’s performance. However, the phase offsets introduced by the antenna array and the radio frequency (RF) frontend of the receiver are changing over time, such that a single measurement at production time is not sufficient to cover the whole lifetime of the antenna and receiver. This paper proposes a way towards a live estimation of the antenna’s and RF frontend’s phase offsets.
