New LQG based Vector Tracking Algorithm using Additional Tracking Loops for High Disturbances Environment

Abstract: A new LQG based vector tracking algorithm using additional tracking loops for high disturbance environment is presented. The conventional vector tracking algorithm does not estimate errors such as atmospheric delay error and multipath because vector tracking algorithm first estimates the position and estimates the measurements. Therefore, additional tracking loops defined as range domain loop in this paper compensate for these errors to enable continuous signal tracking. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we compare the LQG based vector tracking algorithm with the EKF and loop filter based vector tracking algorithm and confirm that the LQG based vector tracking algorithm is more robust than EKF based vector tracking algorithm especially in a dynamic user environment. In addition, we confirm that the LQG based vector tracking algorithm with range domain loop can maintain the signal tracking successively in high disturbance environment caused by multiple error sources. Finally, LQG based vector tracking algorithm with range domain loop can be similar results compared to LQG-VTL in no disturbance environment.
