Abstract: This paper focuses on improving algorithms of estimating ionospheric delay and grid ionospheric vertical error (GIVE) for Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS). To improve accuracy of SBAS ionospheric estimation, the ordinary planer fit is modified by (1) any Ionospheric Pierce Points (IPP) located between the ionospheric delay peak and the corresponded IGP are eliminated for estimation processes, or (2) weighting an observation error matrix based on the distances between IGP and IPP in the linear fitting process. As a result of (1), User Ionospheric Range Errors (UIRE) are improved, and that of (2), formal error variances, which is a main component of GIVE, was decreased.
