Abstract: | This paper describes the recent advances in the development of the NPLTime® service. The existing fibre infrastructure has been expanded to cover new UK locations for improved connectivity over dark fibre links. In its present configuration, the NPLTime® service is capable of delivering better than 1 µs synchronization to UTC(NPL) at a customer site. Data obtained from the current configuration is analyzed here. Timeserver equipment for possible future NPLTime® upgrades are currently being tested in the lab, and results will be presented. Also included are initial tests using White Rabbit, a technique that can give ns-level stability time transfer over fibre. |
