BIPM Services for the Time and Frequency Community

Abstract:	The Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM) is responsible for the generation of the international reference time scales and for their dissemination among the metrology institutes and other users’ communities. Altogether, the time scales maintained by the BIPM provide traceability to the SI second to national institutes, allow a rapid assessment of the synchronization of the local realizations to the time reference, and give a reference to scientific applications requiring longterm stability and high frequency accuracy. The BIPM Time Department maintains a well-organized ftp server where all relevant information on the time scales is collected and made available to users. In parallel, the BIPM web site also gives access to the information.
