Abstract: Researchers in the European Union and in the United States are investigating Advanced RAIM (ARAIM) for world-wide vertical guidance of aircraft. As a member of the four core constellations, Beidou has completed its regional system construction and is developing the global constellation. Beidou is accordingly possible to serve for ARAIM. This paper investigates the GNSS environment for ARAIM application, including the signal-in-space of Beidou, and estimates the ARAIM availability in China. This paper indicates that the offline architecture is not appropriate for BDS currently signal. We subsequently analyze on which level the range error can meet the LPV-200 requirements in most area of China. To evaluate the online architecture, we take advantage the Ground Regional Monitor System (GRIMS) as the ground monitor station network, and conclude that the online architecture served by GRIMS performs well in Chinese regional area.
