Abstract: | This paper provides a description of an SBAS Dual-Frequency Multi-Constellation Service Volume Prototype developed by Egis Avia for CNES with the objective to support the upcoming standardization activities of SBAS DFMC for civil aviation. This flexible prototype is able to simulate DFMC user performance over the globe and/or on specific location based on selected constellation(s) to be augmented and a configurable ground stations network. Initial SBAS DFMC results show promising coverage for CAT I (VAL = 10m) in all user cases introduced: GPS/GAL case, GPS/GAL/GLO/BDS case, extended ground network case and reduced monitoring area case. The activity realized has led to the development of the SBAS Safety of Life Commitment Service Area concept presented at ICAO Navigation System Panel meeting that is also presented here. |
